Ingredients:
-5 eggs
-100 g (½ cup) of sugar
-500 ml (2 cups) of milk
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-a pinch of salt
-80 g (6 tablespoons) of sugar
-80 ml (⅓ cup) of water
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 160C/320F.
1.Beat the eggs with the sugar, vanilla and salt. Start pouring in the milk and beat to combine.
2.Strain the egg mixture through the strainer.
3.Combine 6 tablespoons of sugar and ⅓ cup of water. Place over medium heat. Cook caramel for 10 minutes or until golden.
4.Pour the caramel into 4 ramekins, then top with the creamy mixture.
5.Transfer the ramekins to a baking sheet covered with a cloth. Pour hot water to cover the ramekins ⅔ up.
6.Bake for 40-50 minutes or until set, remove when cool.
